Hazard Identification
Hazard Identification involves many stages: The Accident Incident Register is the central point. Documented employee participation with Hazard Identification and suggestions for improvements are vital.
Hazard Register
All hazards identified during the course of a hazard task analysis are recorded on the Hazard Register and an action plan is implemented that will take all practical steps to eliminate, isolate or minimise that hazard.
Hazard Task Analysis
Hazard task analysis is a health and safety assessment of the hazards associated with a particular task or job. A hazard task analysis systematically breaks down a job into its basic component tasks. This allows the hazards at each step to be reviewed and documented and leads to recommendations and procedures which aim to eliminate or control these hazards.
Health & Safety Committee
Health and Safety Committee work with the Health & Safety Officer meeting at least once annually or sooner if required. They are involved in the development of Health and Safety policy and procedures and assist with hazard identification in the work place. They are required to record and investigate all incidents, providing information, training and regular workplace inspections.
Health & Safety Officer
Health & Safety Officers monitor and advise managers and workers on how to reduce or eliminate workplace dangers. They are current with latest government legislation and are responsible for ensuring that the workplace is safe for all staff and visitors.
Monthly Inspections
Monthly Inspections are a way of systematically checking that the working environment and procedures are meeting the required standards. An inspection should identify hazards and be the first step in introducing measures to improve conditions.
