WSMP audit process
Part of the application process requires that you have your workplace assessed by an ACC approved auditor. For more information about the audit process you can download the ACC1683 WSMP Audit process fact sheet (PDF252K).
Your potential savings
Your ACC WorkPlace Cover levy discount reflects your workplace safety management practices.
There are three discount levels:
- Primary, which earns a 10% discount
- Secondary, which earns a 15% discount
- Tertiary, which earns a 20% discount.
ACC will base your discount on an audit of your workplace safety systems and procedures.
Discounts apply for 24 months, starting from the first day of the month after a successful audit.
If your business is structured so that you are both self-employed and an employer, then the discount could also apply to your self-employed ACC levies, for example ACC CoverPlus or ACC CoverPlus Extra.
Employee entitlements unchanged
Joining the ACC Workplace Safety Management Practices programme does not affect injured employee entitlements.
These entitlements are the same as those provided under ACC WorkPlace Cover.
Re-applying for your discount
Discounts are valid for 24 months, starting from the first day of the month after a successful audit.
